This article highlights the activities of the majlis, which was a consultative body in the central administration, using sources from the Ashtarkhanid dynasty. For example, it discloses the legal basis of the majlis. The names of the majlis mentioned in the sources as «Majlisi Alo», «Majlisi Oliy», «Mashvarati Khany», «Jirga», «Kuriltoy», «Majlis» and other forms are analyzed, it is revealed why the name of the majlis was used. During the Ashtarkhanid dynasty, the place where the majlis was held recorded. Comparing the information of the historian Iskandarbek Munshi with other sources that it was revealed that more than a forty officials participated in the majlis, and their positions in the majlis were revealed. Also, the article shows the processes between majlis and representatives of the Ashtarkhanid dynasty (Baqi Muhammad Khan, Vali Muhammad Khan, Nadr Muhammad Khan, Abdulaziz Khan, Subhonqquli Khan, Ubaidullah Khan, Abulfayz Khan). Also, are analyzed the issues of state management that are discussed in the majlis.
