In the northern area of the civil town of Carnuntum, a stamped brick fragment was found on the grounds of Petronell Castle during excavations. The stamp TEMPVRS is retrograde and in Planta Pedis form. It is one of the stamps of Dux Ursicinus, who was border general of the provinces of Pannonia Prima and Noricum Ripensis under Valentinian I in the 4th century. These brick stamps are rather rare, but come in different variations. An attempt was made to compile the various types of published stamps.
