The purpose of the article is to present an analysis of available foreign sources on the topic “Dissemination of scientific knowledge and the modern library.” The results of an analysis of studies devoted to the study of the dissemination of scientific knowledge through libraries abroad are given. Key topics and concepts were identified, search results were visualized, and a list of articles was generated. The main topics and areas of scientific interest of authors from North and South America, Europe, Africa and India are shown. Publications on the topic of disseminating scientific knowledge in libraries abroad are analyzed. A number of articles were partially accessible, so it was possible to view only fragments of publications or abstracts. Despite this, it was possible to identify some topics from foreign authors. The method of collecting information was scientific mapping using the VosViewer visualization tool. The LENS platform was used as the main source of information. The key interests of the authors of the analyzed publications include the following issues: communications, open data, higher education, science, fake news, etc. The authors confirm the importance of the work of libraries as a significant social institution of knowledge oriented towards the development of society. The scope of activities of libraries, in addition to preserving and disseminating knowledge, should be complemented by work to combat false information.
