The library today is considered as a social institution, and in which each user receives not only an information resource, but also wants to work in comfort for effective acquisition of knowledge, strives for wide access to information, and also wants to have an IT space. In order to study the present and determine the future direction od activity, take steps to further improve the information and library service in the regional information and library center named after Bobur, a library study was conducted. This study was aimed at studying the composition of the reading public, their information needs, the effectiveness of the use of information, material and technical resources for consolidation in the market of information and cultural and mass services.
