The aim of this paper is to determine whether the evaluation expressed in adjectives has a structuring role in the organization of discourse. For this purpose, pragmatic linguistics and a corpus of political discourse are used as a methodology. The results confirm the initial hypothesis: speakers use evaluative adjectives in dynamics (opposition between positive and negative evaluatives, accumulation of negative adjectives) that have an impact on the configuration of textual cohesion. As a consequence, it is considered that valuation is not only an independent discourse relation, but can also make other types of connections. Furthermore, it is observed that there is a difference between the use of dynamics depending on the political role (government vs. opposition).
