Abstract

The work is motivated by the observation that classical EWS indicators such as variance increase or critical slowing down can fail and produce false negatives even when a system is genuinely approaching a critical transition. The manuscript demonstrates that observable critical amplification does not depend on system dynamics alone, but factorizes into three separable components: (1) universal dynamical divergence, (2) geometric observability coupling between the observation channel and the center manifold, (3) noise excitation of the critical subspace. This yields the central factorization: Var[h] ≈ (Cp · Δp² · NCp) / |λ₁|p + regular The framework combines:- stochastic center manifold reduction,- Lyapunov covariance theory,- observability geometry,- Taylor jet expansions,- and asymptotic invariance under smooth coordinate transformations. CRTI and PDF are reinterpreted not as universal laws, but as empirical proxies or estimators of deeper geometric factors within this structure. The work is intentionally framed as:“a geometric observability theorem with universality-class corollaries”rather than a universal law of detectability.
