Abstract

Near the city of Arbonne-la-Forêt (France, Seine-et-Marne), among a total of 12 different vipers (Vipera aspis) observed, five escaped when I approach in trees at height between 70 and 190 cm. This behaviour was observed twice in two individuals. This unusual behaviour testifies to the behavioral adaptation capacity of the species. Such observations could be explained by the pressure exerted in this area by wild boars (Sus scrofa).
