Abstract

Abstract :
Among Marxists, Gramsci's thought has come to the fore for its original and highly contemporary conceptions, and because he “paid” for his commitment with his own life. He is regarded as someone apart from other Marxists, and commentators have dubbed him a humanist Marxist as a result of his approaches. In his writings, for example, there are no technocratic references. This distinguishes him from the technocratic Marxism developed later in France by Althusser, which was very much in vogue in the 1970s.
