The RGscope project aims at structuring and strengthening observation devices on the genetic resources (GR). It is the "domestic and wild relative biodiversity" part of the project ECOSCOPE, network of research observatories on biodiversity. Among the partners of RGscope, 28 structures dedicated to plants and animal GR were identified and studied in three ways - "actors", "genetic resources» and "information systems" - to have an overview of the information systems and identify the strengths and the weaknesses of the current situation. From the information gathered, it was possible to analyze the organization and the relationships between information systems at national and European levels, to identify barriers to dissemination and access to information, but also to identify positive strategies to promote their circulation. A work was also carried out on categories of descriptors used in databases, and supplemented by a detailed analysis of descriptors on five bases on plant and animal GR. Results helped to identify the trends of use of standards and to identify categories of descriptors used, whether they are common or specific to a GR domain or actor.
