Public policy in the field of forest genetic resources (FGR) may seem to be difficult to coordinate in its many components. In order to meet the forest challenges due to climate change, it is important to develop at national level a legislative and regulatory basis fostering a resolute policy dealing with inventory, conservation, selection, sustainable use and trade of FGR.
