TAPIOCA project investigated pesticide transformation products (TPs) in the environment and theirecotoxicity on a selection of aquatic organisms. The project enabled (i) to develop non-targeted analyticalmethods and apply them to the identification of TPs in various environmental matrices, (ii) to improveknowledge of the ecotoxic effects of a selection of pesticides and TPs under controlled laboratoryconditions, and (iii) to test the benefits of tools for predicting the environmental fate and ecotoxicologicaleffects of TPs relative to their parent substance, in order to provide a first assessment of the environmentalrisks arising from the formation of TPs.
