The paper describes the process used to design a pilot in mixed crop livestock system adapted to the needs of farms in Guadeloupe and to the particular context of the agricultural college of Guadeloupe where it was set up. It presents the context of RFD partnership in which it is inserted. It exposes the determinants and stages which allowed, from a diagnosis of the reality of operations Guadeloupe analysis, to size the system, to generate the rotation, and to estimate the material flows. It underlines the importance of studies on the integration of crops and livestock workshops. In addition, it shows how this system can be used to support the test of innovations developed in the experimental station at farm scale.
