Abstract

This paper presents a critical examination of the potential of sustainable technologies in promoting inclusive Open Distance Learning (ODL) in Nigeria. The paper identifies the challenges facing traditional face to face education in the country, including limited access and insufficient infrastructure, and highlights the promise of sustainable technologies in addressing these issues. The paper explores the benefits and limitations of this approach, and provides the potential of sustainable technologies to improve access to education for underprivileged populations. The paper also provides an overview of the current state of open distance learning in Nigeria, highlighting the benefits and limitations of this mode of study. The paper concluded that the adoption of sustainable technologies can play a critical role in advancing the broader goals of ODL in Nigeria. It recommends that leveraging on sustainable technologies will expand access to education in Nigeria.
