The previous methods for estimating the technological parameters of glass tank furnaces from isotopic measurements are critically discussed. It is shown that these parameters can be easily and correctly calculated using a new mathematical model for the furnace estimated from the isotopic data. This model has to fit the technological data well for a precise description of the physical correlations. Mathematical models of the glass mass flow dynamics (in form of the Laplace transfer function) by means of a computer-based algorithm are set up.
