This article analyzes the issue of museumifying architectural monuments in Bukhara, the ancient city of the Ancient East. Information is provided on the organization of the Bukhara Museum, the creation of expositions, and the display of museum exhibits in them for the protection of cultural heritage sites. Initially, the museum was organized in a bank building that is no longer functioning, then in a building specially built for the museum in the Kukeldash madrasah, and later in the Ark fortress, in addition, the former Zindon building and the summer residence of the emirs were transferred to the museum. The article provides an opportunity to obtain information about several historical and architectural objects that were museumized in the 80s and 90s of the last century, based on books, various collections, scientific articles, and archival documents.
