Abstract: The goal of this paper is to compile information from various sources about Arabic and its evolution from Classical Arabic to Modern Standard Arabic. It delves into the primary reasons behind the changes in the Arabic language. Additionally, it explores Arabic dialects with a focus on diglossia, the coexistence and usage of multiple Arabic varieties in Arabic-speaking countries. It examines the reasons for diglossia's presence and its impact on the learning abilities of Arab children. The paper also highlights differences in phonology and vocabulary between Modern Standard Arabic and certain Arabic dialects, providing foreign languages’ teachers with a broad understanding of these variances and preparing them for potential differences in such learning, particularly in English pronunciation among Arabs. Some Arabic speakers may encounter challenges in pronouncing specific sounds, while others may not face the same difficulties.
