Abstract

Several works have now shown that nebular emission can have a significant\nimpact on broad-band photometry of high-redshift galaxies (z > 3), and how\nthis can affect parameter estimation from SED fitting. So far relatively small\nspectroscopic samples have been used to measure this effect. Here we focus on a\nlarge spectroscopic sample (N\∼ 2300) at z\∼2, with measured H\α \nfluxes for \∼100 galaxies. Under appropriate assumptions, our SED fitting\ncode is able to reproduce observed H\α fluxes, and we infer that \∼20%\nof our sample have parameters significantly affected when nebular emission is\ntaken into account. We also determine how nebular emission can affect selection\nand parameter estimation of evolved galaxies (Balmer Break galaxies) at\nhigh-redshift (z\∼4).\n
