Abstract

In modern megacities, where the volume of construction production is constantly expanding, the importance of environmental safety and clean air in urban areas is becoming increasingly important. Active construction in cramped urban conditions contributes to atmospheric pollution, especially due to fine particles PM0.5–PM10. Understanding the physico-chemical composition of construction dust plays a critical role in the development, selection and application of effective dust collection systems, which contributes to maintaining ecological balance in conditions of intensive urbanization. The purpose of this study is to develop a comprehensive methodology for selecting effective dust collection equipment to reduce dust pollution in urban areas under residential conditions. The methodology consists of two stages: the development of an atlas of point-pattern construction dust, providing a detailed description of the chemical and physical properties of dust particles formed during construction work and a feasibility study for the selection of dust-collecting equipment based on data on the properties of the dust with which the equipment will interact. Using the example of the choice of dust collection equipment during the construction of a point-pattern development facility in Moscow, the lobby of the «Novatorskaya» station complex, in 2023, the developed methodology proved its effectiveness.
