Due to the need to control the quality of atmospheric air, mandatory systematic environmental monitoring is carried out by the state on the territory of the Russian Federation and its constituent entities in particular. Nevertheless, despite the fact that standardization of fine suspended particles in the atmospheric air is an important component of air environment monitoring, tracking of PM particles is not carried out in full. This is due to the fact that stationary observation posts record PM concentration in a general way without tracking their diameters. However, particles with diameters less than 10 microns pose a special threat to the environment, already proven by many scientific studies. The article presents the results of field studies conducted in a park in Volgograd, at the junction of two densely populated areas of the city – Voroshilovsky and Tsentralny. Also, the article presents the obtained dependences showing mass fractions of PM particles in the air medium and integral functions of mass distribution of fine particles depending on their diameters in different logarithmic grids. The collected results determine the choice of research direction related to air pollution by fine dust in park areas to ensure the socio-ecological well-being of Volgograd.
