Abstract

The branching fractions of the exclusive decays B0\ensuremath→K*0\ensuremathγ and B+\ensuremath→K*+\ensuremathγ are measured from a sample of (22.74\ifmmode±\else\textpm\fi0.36)\ifmmode×\else\texttimes\fi106 BB decays collected with the BABAR detector at the PEP-II asymmetric e+e^\ensuremath- collider. We find B(B0\ensuremath→K*0\ensuremathγ)\phantom\rule0ex0ex=\phantom\rule0ex0ex[4.23\ifmmode±\else\textpm\fi0.40(stat)\ifmmode±\else\textpm\fi0.22(syst)]\ifmmode×\else\texttimes\fi10^\ensuremath-5, B(B+\ensuremath→K*+\ensuremathγ)\phantom\rule0ex0ex=\phantom\rule0ex0ex[3.83\ifmmode±\else\textpm\fi0.62(stat)\ifmmode±\else\textpm\fi0.22(syst)]\ifmmode×\else\texttimes\fi10^\ensuremath-5 and constrain the CP-violating charge asymmetry to be \ensuremath-0.170<ACP(B\ensuremath→K*\ensuremathγ)<0.082 at 90% C.L.
