Abstract

We report measurements of branching fractions and CP asymmetries for B\ensuremath→\ensuremathηK* and B\ensuremath→\ensuremathη\ensuremathρ decays. These results are obtained from a 414 fb^\ensuremath-1 data sample collected at the \ensuremathΥ(4S) resonance with the Belle detector at the KEKB asymmetric-energy e+e^\ensuremath- collider. We measure the following branching fractions: B(B0\ensuremath→\ensuremathηK*0)=(15.2\ifmmode±\else\textpm\fi1.2\ifmmode±\else\textpm\fi1.0)\ifmmode×\else\texttimes\fi10^\ensuremath-6 and B(B+\ensuremath→\ensuremathηK*+)=(19.3_\ensuremath-1.9+2.0\ifmmode±\else\textpm\fi1.5)\ifmmode×\else\texttimes\fi10^\ensuremath-6, where the first error is statistical and the second systematic. We also find a 2.7\ensuremathσ excess in the B+\ensuremath→\ensuremathη\ensuremathρ+ mode and measure B(B+\ensuremath→\ensuremathη\ensuremathρ+)=(4.1_\ensuremath-1.3+1.4\ifmmode±\else\textpm\fi0.4)\ifmmode×\else\texttimes\fi10^\ensuremath-6<6.5\ifmmode×\else\texttimes\fi10^\ensuremath-6 at 90% confidence level. For B0\ensuremath→\ensuremathη\ensuremathρ0 decays, we determine the upper limit B(B0\ensuremath→\ensuremathη\ensuremathρ0)<1.9\ifmmode×\else\texttimes\fi10^\ensuremath-6 at 90% confidence level. The partial rate asymmetries are ACP(\ensuremathηK*0)=0.17\ifmmode±\else\textpm\fi0.08\ifmmode±\else\textpm\fi0.01, ACP(\ensuremathηK*+)=0.03\ifmmode±\else\textpm\fi0.10\ifmmode±\else\textpm\fi0.01, and ACP(\ensuremathη\ensuremathρ+)=\ensuremath-0.04_\ensuremath-0.32+0.34\ifmmode±\else\textpm\fi0.01.
