Neurodegenerative disorders represent a global health challenge as they lead to the progressive deterioration of central and peripheral nervous system tissue structures, accompanied by declining neurological functions. This article provides extensive details about five leading neurodegenerative disorders, consisting of Alzheimer’s disease, Parkinson’s disease, amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, Huntington’s disease, and multiple sclerosis. The paper examines both prevalence and clinical indications, in addition to pathophysiological mechanisms, followed by diagnostic procedures and limitations in early detection.
