Within the field of noninvasive brain stimulation (NIBS), transcranial ultrasound stimulation (TUS) has gained much momentum in recent years. At a staggering pace, research has made huge methodological advances. Yet, the field is still at a stage at which community-wide gold standards are lacking. Fortunately, many scholars and initiatives, such as the ITRUSST consortium, are taking first steps in this direction. At the time of writing, the consortium has, e.g., published a consensus paper on standardized reporting [1] and a practical guide for TUS [2] which is available on the open-access distribution service arXiv.
