Abstract

Low-intensity focused transcranial ultrasonic stimulation (TUS) promises to reach deep brain structures with unprecedented precision for non-invasive brain stimulation. Effective application of TUS, however, requires precise placement of transducers on the head surface to ensure selective neural target exposure and engagement (Murphy et al., 2025). This process is constrained by individual skull and brain anatomy, hardware limitations, as well as computational and time costs of running exhaustive acoustic simulations to optimize transducer placement.
