German: Im Rahmen der qualitativen Erhebung zu Persistent Identifikatoren (PIDs), die im von der Deutschen Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) geförderten Projekt PID Network Deutschland (Förderkennzeichen: 506475377, https://pid-network.de) durchgeführt wurde, wurde vor dem Hintergrund einer dynamisch wachsenden PID-Landschaft der Stand der Implementierung und Nutzung von PIDs in Deutschland systematisch untersucht. Die Erhebung adressierte PID-Registrierungsagenturen, Aggregatoren, Zitationsdatenbanken sowie Infrastrukturinitiativen wie die Nationale Forschungsdateninfrastruktur (NFDI). Ziel war es, belastbare Erkenntnisse über Art, Umfang und Nutzungskontexte von PIDs zu gewinnen und zugleich Bedarfe, Versorgungslücken und Weiterentwicklungspotenziale zu identifizieren. Die qualitativen Interviews ermöglichten dabei vertiefte Einblicke in konkrete Anforderungen, strukturelle Defizite und zukünftige Entwicklungsperspektiven der PID-Anwendung. Die folgende Auswertung bezieht sich ausschließlich auf den Themenkomplex „Bedarfe und Wünsche“ in den angehängten Umfragebögen. Bei den beiden Short-Papern der Deutschen Nationalbibliothek (DNB) zu Gemeinsamen Normdatei (GND) und URN fehlt diese Überschrift zwar formal, die dort formulierten Empfehlungen zur Verbesserung der PID-Nutzung erfüllen jedoch funktional dieselbe analytische Rolle und werden deshalb in die Auswertung einbezogen. English: As part of the qualitative survey on persistent identifiers (PIDs), conducted within the DFG-funded project PID Network Germany (grant number: 506475377, https://pid-network.de), the current state of PID implementation and use in Germany was systematically examined against the background of a dynamically evolving PID landscape. The survey addressed PID registration agencies, aggregators, citation database providers, and infrastructure initiatives such as the National Research Data Infrastructure (NFDI). The aim was to generate robust insights into the types, scope, and contexts of PID use, while also identifying needs, gaps in provision, and potential areas for further development. The qualitative interviews provided in-depth insights into specific requirements, structural deficits, and future development perspectives regarding the application of PIDs. The following analysis (in German) refers exclusively to the thematic area of “Needs and Wishes” in the attached survey questionnaires. Although this heading is not formally present in the two short papers submitted by the German National Library (DNB) on the Integrated Authority File (GND) and URNs, the recommendations formulated there for improving PID use fulfill the same analytical function and are therefore included in the analysis.
