This essay aims to define the linguistic phenomenon known as "loanwords" and identify the main processes through which foreign elements are integrated into a different linguistic system. Additionally, as a case study, the linguistic typology of wasei eigo will be discussed to contextualize loanwords within the receiving culture and language.
