The articles tries to answer two questions: If a religious anthem which students encounter at their music and religion classes has any educational value and if this anthem fullfills its didactic role. After familiarizing with basic definitions necessary to analyse the topic of the article, there is a short description (outline) of music and religion classes. Afterwards there is an analysis of some texbooks available for teaching music and religion, focusing on religious content. The conclusion of the article gives some suggestiong which can improve the substantive level of the same classes. A very good idea for a teacher is to implement correlative teaching of music and religion with other subjects such as history, literaturę or art.
