The Branch Library for Medical History of the Medical University of Vienna containing over half a million items is the largest library for medical history in Austria. Next to current literature about medical history the library stocks nine completed historical libraries with books out of six centuries (15th–20th century) in its location at the Josephinum. The article describes these nine libraries and presents a highlight of every collection.
