In this article, the Central Asian Scientific Society, the Turkestan Agricultural Society, the Scientific and Medical Society of Turkestan Local History, the Russian Geographical Society, the libraries established in schools, gymnasiums, colleges and teachers’ seminaries, and the formation of their book collections, which were established in Turkestan at the end of the 19th century and the beginning of the 20th century, are discussed in this article. , the state of preservation of eastern manuscript books, funding, activities of famous bibliographers who worked were analyzed. Also, information is provided about the attitudes of the local population of Turkestan to books and reading books.
