The Biodivleg project studied the influence of different border environments of Brassicaceae crops on the natural control of fly populations of the Delia genus. The study compared various biological andagronomic variables in plots surrounded by both high-density and low-density semi-natural environments. The results of the study indicate that some species of rove beetle (Staphylinus genus) and ground beetle (Carabidae) have significant action on the flies but showed that in the production conditions of the sampled plots, their action is not sufficient to significantly limit the extent of crop damage. However, the efficacy of their action could be enhanced by implementing high-density semi- natural environments at the edges of the plots, but also by using crop management practices adapted.
