Abstract

The article is devoted to the typological analysis of bus station complexes, their functional zoning taking into account new modern requirements. In the context of the rapid development of urban transport systems, bus stations are becoming not only hubs of passenger transportation, but also important social and cultural spaces. The article considers the main types of bus station complexes, their influence on the functional organization of space both inside the facility and on the territory. The research provides an overview of existing bus stations in Donetsk, analyzes its architectural, planning and functional characteristics, identifies problematic aspects related to the typology, and suggests possible solutions. The article emphasizes the importance of choosing the right typology of bus station complexes to achieve high functionality and passengers’ comfort, as well as their financial sustainability. The results of our study can be useful for architects, urbanists, and local governments interested in developing the city’s transport infrastructure.
