Der systematische Erwerb von Wortschatz und kommunikativer Kompetenz im Fremdsprachenunterricht Englisch ist ein entscheidender Faktor für die globale Partizipation von allen Schüler*innen. Im vorliegenden Beitrag wird die Forschungsfrage untersucht, inwiefern die Kombination einer komplexen Kompetenzaufgabe mit digitalem Storytelling und Fokuswörtertraining den Wortschatzerwerb und damit kommunikative Kompetenz fördert. Die Ergebnisse zeigen, dass der Wortschatz sich nach der Intervention in Wortanzahl und -vielfalt vergrößert. Sustainable acquisition of vocabulary and communicative competence in the Teaching English as a Foreign Language (TEFL) Classroom is a crucial factor for the global participation of all students. In this article, the research question is examined whether a combination of task-based learning, digital storytelling and focus word training enhances vocabulary acquisition and thus promotes communicative competence. The results indicate that vocabulary multiplies after the intervention in terms of word count as well as in terms of variety.
