The promotion of architectural heritage, as a testimony to our history and a symbol of our identity, inevitably overlaps with that of local development in the mountain regions, particularly in the Central High Atlas. Currently, its villages are depopulating due to the lack of development alternatives, which is causing them to sink into oblivion and disuse, "the case of the Ait Bouguemez valley, located in the heart of the Central High Atlas. Cultural-heritage tourism is a form of tourism that aims to discover the architectural heritage of a region. It must be considered as an agent of sustainable development, and apply fundamental values, namely the authenticity of projects and the protection of heritage. Cultural-heritage tourism can significantly contribute to the economic prosperity of the Ait Bouguemez valley, as it can generate social benefits, namely the recognition of its cultural and architectural heritage as a component of the territory. And consequently, the promotion of its living local culture, the discovery of different types of heritage. Thus, the contributions of this type of tourism help improve the quality of life of the inhabitants and give them a renewed sense of pride in their culture and heritage and become concerned about their preservation over time.
