The Cirl Bunting Emberiza cirlus nests again in Wallonia

Abstract

After becoming rare since the middle of the last century, and a last nesting in 1962, the Cirl Bunting is breeding again in Wallonia in 2023. A family was discovered on 26.06.2023 near Roly (Philippeville), not far from another canton of a male. The present observation is part of the northward expansion of this thermophilic species.
