This article proposes a synthesis of two Casdar projects (Phytoel, RED-SPyCE), on the effect of the association of livestock and crops on the use of inputs, by mobilizing Ecophyto ans Inosys databases. Phytoel also realized the co-design of efficient systems, combining the skills of farmers and agronomists and zootechnicians, to reduce by 50% the use of pesticides, trough crop-livestock reconnection. REDSPyCE produced the NICC'EL tool, which allowed to evaluate ex-post this integration. The analysis of the Phytoel databases shows that cropping systems, associated with livestock, use 43% less pesticides than cropping systems without animals. This reduction is related to fodder surfaces, crop practices and the crop destination to sale or feeding animals. On the other side, the analysis of the Inosys database schow that strengthening the crop-livestock integration, allows 32% less use of pesticides in crops and regulates farm income. In practice, during the co-design workshops, it was possible to build farms prototypes that mobilized on average 52% less pesticides. The evaluation of crop-livestock integration with the NICC'EL tool, shows that reducing the use of pesticides is possible by strengthening or not the interactions between livestock and livestock. But, the environmental and economical performances of the farms from the Phytoel project whose integration has increased are significantly higher.
