This article analyzes the formation, historical stages, and current significance of the Zangi-Ota historical-architectural complex located in the Tashkent region. It examines the evolution of the architectural monument, created as a result of the reverence for the personality and spiritual heritage of Zangi-Ota (Oykhoja ibn Toshkhoja) a major 12th-century representative of Sufism and a follower of the Yassaviya order during the era of Amir Timur and the Timurids. Furthermore, the article assesses the large-scale works carried out during the years of Uzbekistan’s independence to reconstruct the complex and transform it into a modern center for pilgrimage tourism, and its resulting contribution to the socio-economic life of the region. The research focuses on the issues of preserving historical heritage and harmonizing it with modern development to enhance regional potential.
