Abstract

Pseudoplectania africana teleomorph is recorded for the first time in Madeira Island (Portugal) and for the second time worldwide. A description of the macro- and microscopic characters and the ecology is provided, as well as the photographic documentation. The identification of selected collections has been confirmed also genetically by comparison of the ITS rDNA, 28S rDNA, tef1 and rpb2 sequences with those of the type collection from South Africa.
