Abstract

Pseudoplectania episphagnum is recorded and confirmed for the first time in Italy based upon two collections made in the upper part of the peat bog of the “Val di Non”, in the Novella municipality of the province of Trento. A description of the macro-, microscopic and ecological characters is provided, as well as colour photos of fresh samples. An updated combined rDNA ITS-28S/LSU phylogenetic analysis of the genus Pseudoplectania is also provided.
