The growing difficulties in controlling weeds and the diffuse pollution generated using herbicide encourage a greater mobilization of agronomic levers. In order to achieve this, farmers need to be supported in the adoption of these new practices. We propose to start this support by a sociotechnical diagnosis of weed pressure at the plot level. This diagnosis includes: (1) an approximation of the soil seedbank of the plot,(2) an assessment of agronomic practices, (3) an evaluation of the risk of resistance of grassweeds to herbicides and (4) an assessment of farmer’s constraints and drivers of change. The diagnosis was conducted through individual interviews with seven farmers in the Hauts-de-France region. Weed pressure trajectories are consistent within the sample surveyed. Farmers facing technical difficulties are motivated to improve their practices. The continuation of the actions is underway with three farmers from the initial panel, with the identification and experimentation of new farming practices.
