The work of the IPCC provides scenarios of the 21rst century climate change, leading to temperature increases of 1.5 °C to 5.8 °C. Beyond the thermal approach, other works report substantial reductions in rainfall in the Mediterranean region. Thus, the vegetative cycle of the vine should take place in a hotter period, but also drier than now. Biomass production and the typicaity of the products should be affected. Adaptation to climate change is studied in complementary work axes: - modeling approach: the goal was to forecast using climate change scenarios. Models simulate the behavior of the vine considering a contrasting climate, with or without modification of farming practices, - experimental approach: various changes in cropping practices were tested on field to assess their effects on the water stress reduction and/or offset of phenology.
