Agroecology criteria are now an integral part of innovative approaches within the oilseed sector. This article analyzes the Lesieur Fleur de Colza approach, now known as Lesieur Huiles Engagées. This case study is based on interviews and documentary sources. It reveals the ambition of a food oil producer committed to greater sustainability in the rapeseed sector to make the transition to agroecology. Contributors to this initiative, launched in 2004, are committed to a shared set of specifications that have evolved over time, both in terms of content and the way that relationships between the partners involved are organized. The article describes this evolution and outlines the main agroecological concerns underlying the approach: resilience (environmental and economic), responsible governance, knowledge sharing and co-creation. It also analyzes the innovation functions involved in the approach.
