Abstract

In agriculture, many stakeholders, from farmers to tool and service providers, teachers and researchers, have a common need to know how digital technologies are used. The stakes are different depending on the stakeholders considered: understanding the state of the market, identifying the adoption barriers in order to define the content of training courses, setting up new services, identifying potential users, identifying barriers linked to the adoption or dissemination of new technologies, etc. The Observatory of Digital Agriculture Uses proposes a collective response to this common need. This paper presents the two types of actions proposed in this context: an inventory of uses by technology and thematic reports by type of profession. In particular, through examples of results, the paper shows how the state of remote sensing uses, based on interviews with service providers, has highlighted heterogeneity of uses and in particular a delay for the wine sector. It shows the interest of going deeper into these findings through quantitative and qualitative surveys. In particular, the example presented highlighted the impact of digital technology on the missions of wine advisors and a definite need for training.
