Abstract : This study aims to analyze the concepts of hybridity and mimicry in The Tattooed Memory by Abdelkebir Khatibi, drawing on the theoretical framework proposed by Homi Bhabha in his book The Location of Culture. The novel recounts Khatibi's autobiography, starting with his education in the Quranic school, followed by the French school, and culminating in his specialization in sociology at the Sorbonne. The study reveals manifestations of hybridity and mimicry in the author’s identity, where he is portrayed as imitating the West, leading to a sense of identity splitting that places him in a liminal space between Moroccan and French cultures.
