The "corpus" of Franco-Italian literature includes three narrative poems of the Passion, one of which is by Niccolò da Verona. The contribution aims to investigate its relationship with the French tradition – of which an outline is sketched –, demonstrating how the study of the translation and adaptation in French verse of the Calvary narrative in northern Italy contributes to shed light, more generally, on the different forms of reception and assimilation of French literary culture within the Franco-Italian domain.
