University libraries have long since recognized information literacy as an important issue in their daily work, and they offer a wide range of lectures and workshops on this topic. The understanding of information literacy has changed over the years under the influence of digitization, social media and the broadening of the target groups to be addressed. In order for libraries to be able to respond adequately to the particular requirements of individual target groups, cooperating with internal and external partners is essential. Other library functions, such as research database management and flexible journal licensing, are also facilitated through cooperation with the relevant parties. This article presents and describes cooperation models in use at three different medical libraries.
