We discuss the physics of the ridge -- azimuthally collimated long range\nrapidity correlations -- in high multiplicity proton-proton and proton-nucleus\ncollisions. We outline some of the theoretical discussions in the literature\nthat address the systematics of these ridge correlations.\n
