We give improvements of the deformation method for computing the zeta\nfunction of a generic projective hypersurface in characteristic~p that either\nreduce the dependence on~p of the time complexity to \O(p1/2) or\nthat of the space complexity to \O(\log(p)) while remaining polynomial\nin the other input parameters.\n
