Abstract

The prevalence and incidence of pain-related problems seems to be higher in people with a confirmed diagnosis of a depression or an anxiety disorder, when compared to general population. One of the possible contributing mechanisms can be the presence of altered pain perception and nociceptive processing mechanisms in those individuals with depression or anxiety disorders, although this stills need further confirmation
