Abstract

Cervical cancer is the commonest gynaecologic malignancy in this environment (anecdotal) and this may be related with the sociocultural lifestyle of the people. Now with the HIV pandemic there is a change in the pattern of presentation of this disease. The 3 case reports highlight the pattern of cervical cancer in patients who are HIV seropositive and presented at a very young age with locally advanced and metastatic disease. There were distant metastases at uusual sites and tumour was poorly differentiated carcinoma. The disease was very aggressive with short duration of symptoms and poor response to conventional treatment modality. The natural history of cervical cancer appears to be different in HIV positive patients.
