Abstract

This study aims to conduct a systematic review of the scientific literature on how sustainability is taught within the context of Social Studies in both primary and secondary education. The research seeks to describe the pedagogical approaches, content, and methodologies used, as well as to synthesize any documented effects on students’ sustainable engagement and behavior. The review will follow PRISMA guidelines and include searches in databases such as Web of Science, Scopus, and ERIC. Empirical studies (quantitative, qualitative, and mixed-method) published between 2014 and 2024 in English and Spanish will be included. The data will be synthesized narratively, highlighting thematic and methodological patterns.
